Other than stacks of books, flowers and cushions (my essentials/weaknesses). Tackling the question with the help of some brilliant books and expert friends.
Just read this marvellous missive in the bath (which is my favourite room at the weekends because there’s only room for one person)! Absolutely blown away to be included with such kind words, and hugely grateful for all the links and other substack recommendations- I now have about 384 tabs open AND you have inspired me to write about my dolls houses (there are two). Total joy 🤩
I must take some pics of mine - I am currently missing a box of furniture and a servant! (Quite literally, but also in the sense of the peg doll who ‘did’ for my feminist household of erudite ladies!) xx
I am currently engaged in feverish correspondence with my mum about a missing box of furniture. "I'm missing a dining room table and a sofa! And a servant." Her reply is that she is missing a servant too, but I think we refer to different things.
Thank you for this lovely post. I also fervently recommend to people they visit Chawton - I fell in love with it when I moved to nearby Winchester and first visited the cottage. My friends got married in the Chawton Library, which was Edward’s residence and now houses a women’s library and much more besides.
Lovely lovely Sunday sofa read Natasha...now I have a number of gorgeous books on my Christmas list! And new substacks to devour - thank you!! 😊 oh, and I also endeavour to further increase my clutter and claim it is stylish!! Win win!
Natasha that must have taken you ages! Brilliant post and three more interiors books I need to get my hands on. Thank you for asking me to take part. I feel very honoured. X

Loved your comments around the folks house. It brought back happy memories of reading to my daughter where dolls houses were featured.

Ahh thank you so much Natasha - I’m so glad you enjoyed Home Matters ❤️
Adored it. It made me look at my home differently.

*Immediately plans to go to Chawton Library.* May have to consider ditching husband and finding new one so I, too, can get married there?
Ha ha, I’ll be lying if I said the thought of at least renewing vows didn’t cross my mind, too.
Great piece, loved reading it and makes me want to buy all the books you mentioned
Ah, that is is lovely - thank you so much!

Thank you for your brilliance. Currently wondering if I ought to paint my kitchen cupboards yellow….. xx
Of COURSE you should, Natasha 😂
