Book(ish). That’s me.

Strictly speaking, I am bookish, no brackets required. But for the purposes of this newsletter they remain. Because whilst this newsletter is mostly about books, as its author, I reserve the right to deviate on occasion.

I’m a writer, but more than that I’m a reader. I've been obsessed with books since letters magically rearranged themselves into words. (I was four-years-old, I was on a boat, and the book was the Shirley Hughes classic, Lucy and Tom Go To School. It was a strong start.)

So, please join me for regular book recommendations, book-related musings, interviews with authors and other fellow book-lovers, the occasional foray into frocks, decor and life - and our very own book club…

But I’d very much like it if this wasn’t just me talking at you (although I do excel at the art of chat), but a conversation between friends. So tell me what you’re reading; books you’ve loved/loathed; what you’d like me to read and report back on whether it’s worth your time; or if you just fancy a bit of book(ish) chat.

Some housekeeping: At times, I use affiliate links on this newsletter, which means that if you click through and purchase, I get a (tiny) amount of that sum - but it doesn’t affect how much you pay. I hope you think this is fair enough, given that this newsletter is a labour of love.

Why subscribe?

I’d love you to become a subscriber and regular correspondent. A free subscription gives you access to my weekly newsletter - this could be anything from straightforward book reviews so you can add to your TBR pile, an exclusive author interview, a round-up on a theme… This weekly letter is the main part of Book(ish) and it will remain free because a love of books and reading should be available to everyone and I want to tell as many people as I possibly can about the books I love.

But if you’re feeling generous and want to support me and my writing, you can become a paid subscriber. This is one of my jobs, and I put a lot of work into it, so if you love this newsletter, get value out of it, and believe in paying people for their work, consider a paid subscription. A paid subscription is £5 a month or £50 a year (think of it as buying me a-coffee-and-a-half), for which you’ll get bonus posts and content, full access to the archives, and my undying gratitude.

Sign up here to ensure you never miss a newsletter from me - it’ll land directly in your inbox.
